Dev Diary #7: Item Upgrades and Glow Effects

Upgrading from +1 to +10 at the Magic Anvil: protection scrolls, Forge Embers, the Ascension path and gear that glows from +7.

Upgrading gear is one of the most exciting moments in Arkhon Online. At the Magic Anvil in every castle you can strengthen your weapons and armour up to +10.

Chance and cost

• The higher the upgrade level, the lower the chance of success and the higher the gold cost of each attempt.
  
• A Fortune Stone raises the chance of success. One stone is used per attempt.
  

Failure and protection

A failed attempt destroys the item. A Protection Scroll protects it up to +7.

Forge Embers

Every failed attempt at +8, +9 or +10 leaves you a Forge Ember. Collected Embers raise the chance of your next attempts, so even bad luck brings you closer.

Beyond +10

• Accessories have their own Accessory Upgrade window.
  
• An Ascension Stone puts a +7 to +10 item on the Ascension path, which goes up to A+21.
  
• Fire, Ice, Lightning and Poison scrolls add an element to an item. Stat scrolls work on armour only.
  

Glow effects

• Weapons with an element glow in its colour from +7.
  
• Armour of level 40 and above glows from +7, getting stronger towards +10.
  
• Each piece glows on its own according to its level, so everyone can see your work.
