Dev Diary #16: Quest Auto Run
Start a quest from an NPC with one click: your character walks to the monster area by itself and, once done, back to the quest giver.
When a quest says "hunt the wolves north of Arkent" you do not have to search the map. With Auto Run your character walks to the target by itself.
How to use it
Where does it go?
On arrival your character stops in the middle of the spawn point and does not attack on its own. Pick a target with Z and attack with R.
When the quest is done
Once the quest is complete, the same icon takes you back to the quest giver. For quests with several targets it heads for the next open one when the main target is done.
Smart routing
Stopping
Walking with W, A, S, D, clicking the ground or dying ends the auto run. Continuous attack is switched off when a route starts.
Good to know
Auto run works within the map you are on. If the target is on another map you need to travel there first; you will see "No route for this quest."
The quest chain
Levels 1 to 40 have a main story chain of 24 quests. New players first go through a short guided start: the training ground, the merchant and the first hunt. There are also exploration, delivery, daily and multi-target quests, and treasure maps use the same auto run system.
Note: the game is in development; values may change during beta testing.

When a quest says "hunt the wolves north of Arkent" you do not have to search the map. With Auto Run your character walks to the target by itself.
How to use it
- In the on-screen quest tracker every quest has a running-man icon. Click it and your character sets off. The tracker shows up to 5 quests.
- The same button is in the Quests window (J).
- When you set off the chat says "Auto run: <quest name>".
Where does it go?
- Hunting quest: the nearest spawn point of that monster.
- Gathering quest: the nearest spawn point of the monsters that drop the item.
- Exploration quest: the marked spot on the map.
- Talk or delivery quest: the NPC involved.

Smart routing
- The route follows the map's path network. If the target is across a river, your character uses the stone bridge.
- If it gets stuck on a tree or a rock it moves on to the next point and keeps going.
